We are very excited about the upcoming banking system conversion between Airline Financial Credit Union and Luminus Financial, effective July 1, 2024. This banking conversion will bring enhanced services, increased security, and expanded opportunities for our valued members. We understand that change can be challenging, so we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for you. Here are the key details you need to know:
All Airline members will be given a new Member Number. You will use this to log in to online banking, which will be available July 1. All other debits and credits will still be routed to your account as they were before; no changes are required.
New Online Banking System and Account Changes
- Friday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m. until Monday, July 1st at 12:00 p.m. – Airline members will not have access to online banking and their ATM card.
- NOTE: If you are planning to make a bill payment the weekend of July 1st, please ensure this is completed by Friday June 28 at 2:00 p.m.
- Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Members will be able to access cash during these hours while our call centre will also be open to assist members
- July 1, 2024 – Launch date
- Our new online banking system will officially launch.
- Members will transition into using their new debit card and Luminus Online Banking Platform
- Branches will be closed; however, the call centre will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Action required: All Airline members will be issued a temporary password for online banking using a mix of your personal information which will be communicated on the website. It must be reset to access your new Luminus account. Temporary passwords will expire within 2 weeks; after that, please call the branch so we can set up your access.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
- Implementation: July 1st.
- Action required: For increased security, Airline members must set up two-factor authentication (2FA). Instructions on how to enable this feature in your new online banking profile will be provided on our website.
New Debit Cards
- Distribution period: Mid to late June
- You will be able to use the new card beginning July 1.
You will receive your new debit card with chip technology, personalized with the latest INTERAC Flash® technology for your added convenience. Chip technology provides a secure payment environment while protecting you against fraudulent card use.
INTERAC Flash® is contactless which allows you to conveniently and securely make smaller everyday purchases at select merchants without having to insert your card or PIN. Simply tap your card at any merchant that supports INTERAC Flash® technology – It’s quick and safe.
If this is a new card with a new number, you will receive your Personal Identification Number (PIN) within the next 3-5 business days.
Once you have confirmed that your new debit card is working, after July 1st, please destroy your old card and safely dispose.
Before you start using your new debit card:
- Sign the back of the card on the signature panel.
- To activate the INTERAC Flash® technology on your new debit card, complete one Interac contact chip and PIN transaction and you’re good to start using the INTERAC Flash® service on your next transaction.
e-Transfer Services
- Service interruption: From June 26 to July 1, 2024, e-Transfer services will be temporarily disabled.
- Details: e-Transfers will be disabled at 8:00 p.m. EST on June 26. Please complete all pending transactions by June 27, as any incomplete transactions will be reversed.
- Resumption of service: e-Transfer services will resume on July 1, 2024, with the new system.
New Interac Profiles
- Action required: Members must set up new Interac e-Transfer profiles, including auto-deposit and recipients, in Luminus’s online banking system. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation in setting up these new profiles.
Key Dates to Remember:
- June 26, 2024: e-Transfers disabled at 8:00 p.m. EST.
- June 27, 2024: Deadline to complete pending e-Transfer transactions.
- June 28, 2024: Online banking and ATM cards will be disabled at 6:00 p.m.
- July 1, 2024: Launch of the new online banking system and ATM cards by noon. Reactivation of e-Transfer services.
Weekend Branch Hours:
We know that managing your finances is important, even during holiday weekends. That’s why we’re offering special hours at our Eglinton / Airline branch this Canada Day weekend to ensure you have access to the services you need.
Eglinton / Airline Branch Hours:
- Saturday, June 29: Open from 9 AM to 4 PM
- Sunday, June 30: Open from 9 AM to 4 PM
Please note that on Monday, July 1st, in observance of Canada Day, all Luminus Financial branches will be closed. However, to support our members, our call centre will remain open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday the 1st.
