As part of our commitment to providing you with the highest level of card security, your card is equipped with Chip & PIN protection. The encrypted microchip is virtually impossible to duplicate and works with your Personal Identification Number (PIN) instead of your signature for transaction verification.
With your Chip & PIN card, you never need to hand your card over to anyone to complete a transaction. Your private PIN replaces your signature, so your benefits include:
Added peace of mind
Increased security against unauthorized use of your card
Increased security against counterfeiting and skimming
Your PIN is your PIN
Your PIN is unique to you. No one else can use your card without the PIN, so you can help ensure your own peace of mind by keeping your PIN private and protected. You can change your PIN at any time.
To establish or change your PIN, call 1-844-788-2725. You can also change your PIN using the CardWise app.
Using your Chip card
Making a purchase with your Chip card is simple, easy, and secure:
Place your card into the chip-reader terminal.
Follow the onscreen prompts and click OK for the purchase amount.
The terminal will request your PIN, which is used instead of a signature.
Once your PIN is confirmed and the purchase is approved, your receipt will be printed.
Please note: You will be prompted when to remove your card. This may occur during the transaction or at the end of the transaction.
Chip technology has been proven effective in Canada and in more than 80 countries around the world. For situations where Chip technology isn’t available, your card will still have a magnetic stripe and our additional security measures.

Fraud specialists are monitoring your account 24/7, using sophisticated tools to catch any suspicious activity. If we detect unusual activity relating to your account, you will receive a phone call from us asking you to confirm that you, or an Authorized User, performed a transaction on your card or account.

Stay on top of your transaction history and spending any time with the CardWise app. If you notice suspicious activity on your account or suspect that your card has been lost or stolen, contact Cardholder Services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at 1-855-341-4643 (Canada and US) or 1-647-252-9564 (international collect); or use the “Report Lost/Stolen” feature once logged into the CardWise app.
One-time passcode
A one-time passcode (OTP) is a secure authentication method where a numeric code is sent to your mobile number. A six-digit passcode window will pop up during your online transaction when additional security is requested.
If you receive such a request, you will need to check your mobile phone for a text message containing the passcode and enter it in the appropriate field. This code will be valid for five minutes. Please note: the transaction will not be processed if the OTP is not entered once the limit has expired.
If you did not receive a code and are presented with a window requesting the code, please contact Cardholder Services at 1-855-341-4643 to confirm the mobile number on file.
Additionally, contact Cardholder Services immediately if you:
Receive a code for a transaction you did not initiate;
Believe you're a victim of an OTP scam and have provided financial information to a fraudulent source.
As a reminder, Collabria will never contact you and ask to share the OTP over the phone, by text, or by email. Collabria also will never ask you to click or share personal information such as credit card account numbers, social insurance numbers, etc.
Contactless payments help you breeze through the checkout faster. Look for the Contactless symbol on the checkout terminal and simply tap your Visa card to a secure reader at a participating merchant. No swiping, inverting, signing, or PIN is required for purchases under the merchant’s set limit. If your purchase is over the merchant’s set limit, you may be asked to sign, swipe, or insert your card instead.
